Kelly brings her knowledge about the Sunshine Coast housing sector combined with over 25 years’ experience in strategic planning, program management, team facilitation, revenue development, and communications for social service and private sector organizations. She firmly believes that affordable and appropriate housing-for-all is attainable on the Sunshine Coast, and is committed to working with local government, community organizations, housing providers, and individuals to achieve this.
Emergency Housing Coordinator
Silas brings his knowledge in government policy and governance combined with over seven years’ experience in coordinating services for the homeless population. He has worked closely with local organizations who provide emergency and supportive housing and understands the major gaps and barriers to meeting the needs of the homeless community. Drawing upon his local government experience, master’s degree in government policy development, and public participation training, he can effectively identify strategies to address these complex issues.
Rental Incentives Coordinator
Jacqueline moved to the coast from Calgary, 7 years ago. She brings a broad range of skills and knowledge to Cover the Coast. She has a background in stakeholder engagement and project management, and is currently completing her Master’s in Public Health at the University of Victoria.
She herself is a renter on the Sunshine Coast.
Sunshine Coast Housing Action Table
The activities of Cover The Coast are guided by the Sunshine Coast Housing Action Table (HAT). The purpose of HAT is to coordinate the collective and collaborative efforts of individuals, housing providers, community organizations, and local governments to provide access to safe, affordable and appropriate housing that meets the diverse and changing needs of the communities on the southern Sunshine Coast. The Steering Committee acts as a de facto executive committee of HAT, providing oversight and managing the development and direction of the Table; ensuring Table priorities have the necessary resources and support for successful implementation.
